Cervena is a proud sponsor of the 2006 DiRoNA Award Scholarship fund, which has helped students pursue careers in the restaurant and hospitality industries since 1989.
As Ted Balestreri, co-owner of the Sardine Factory in Monterey, CA and past Di Rona Chairman, notes: “The gift of education is rewarding; the end result is immeasurable”. Ten fortunate recipients received scholarships this year. Four of the honorees, pictured at right, attended the Scholarship Awards program in May 2006 at Lawry’s Prime Rib in Chicago.
The luncheon was attended by a group of 150 people, including Di Rona members and sponsors. Executive Chef Patrick Stewart, CEC, did a beautiful job on the menu, which included Cervena Bruschetta and Cervena Barquette at the reception, and a first course of Roasted Cervena Venison Chop with a Cabernet Pomegranate Reduction.
