STAR CHEFS LA VEGAS RISING STARSHONOREES DINNER CERVENA SPONSORSHIP October 20, 2008 This final event of the 2008 Rising Stars series of programs was held at RM restaurant in the beautiful Mandalay Bay hotel, and hosted by Executive Chef and owner Rick Moonen. The evening’s theme provided recognition to up-and-coming highly-talented local chefs and sommeliers, who are expected to be the high profile culinary talents of the future. The Awards Dinner is a private and prestigious event for the chosen chef and sommelier honorees, and national event sponsors. The menu prepared by Sous Chef Brian Rae, who was also recognized as a Vegas Rising Star, included a main course of Paprika-Spiked Cervena Venison Chop, Chanterelles, Huckleberry & Blood Orange.
Star Chefs actually puts on a series of events in each Rising Star market, including: · A panel discussion at a local culinary school on the topic “How to Make It To the Top” featuring the honorees, · The Honorees Awards Dinner · A “Rising Star Gala” dine-around event, open to the public, featuring all the Honorees · A trade-only Afterparty
In each Rising Star market, Cervena is represented by a local distributor who is invited to attend all phases of the Rising Star local program. The distributor receives a significant benefit to network with the premier chefs in each city, and promote their Cervena brand. In Las Vegas, Sierra Meats received this opportunity.
